On Tuesday, Parliament voted in favour of Boris Johnson’s withdrawal agreement bill at its second reading by 329 votes to 299 – a majority of 30. But just minutes later, the Prime Minister’s hopes of delivering Brexit on October 31 were dealt a massive blow after MPs voted to reject the Government’s programme motion by 322 votes to 308. Mr Johnson then “paused” his Brexit bill, with Number 10 indicating a he will push for a general election if the European Union proposes a delay to Brexit until January 30, 2020.A Downing Street source said: “Parliament and Corbyn have repeatedly voted for delay.“On Saturday Parliament asked for a delay until January and today Parliament blew its last chance.“If Parliament’s delay is agreed by Brussels, then the only way the country can move on is with an election.“This Parliament is broken. The public will have to choose whether they want to get Brexit done with Boris or whether they want to spend 2020 having two referendums on Brexit and Scotland with Corbyn.”Labour Party news: Jeremy corbyn has refused to back an early general election twice (Image: GETTY)Labour Party news: Jeremy Corbyn will back an early general election on one condition (Image:… Read full this story
