Madhya Pradesh had started the final day as favourites, after bagging a massive first innings lead. However, Mumbai were threatening to make a match of it by first wiping out the deficit and then building a lead. All of Mumbai’s batters came out with the intention of scoring quick runs and were successful in that pursuit for a while. Although overnight batter Armaan Jaffer fell after just adding seven more runs, both Suved Parkar and Sarfaraz Khan raised Mumbai’s hopes with a sprightly 53-run stand for the fourth wicket off just 49 balls.
