Kindly Share This Story: By Uche Anichukwu Rightly sensing that the constitution amendment exercise will take the front seat as the National Assembly, NASS, returns from annual vacation, the Northern Elders Forum, NEF, has queried the value of past efforts at amending the 1999 Constitution and cautioned northern groups against “being railroaded into making submissions” to NASS for an exercise it sees as a “waste and deceit”. Potential GTA remasters won’t just be “simple” ports
Rockstar co-owner Take-Take has discussed their strategy regarding potential GTA remasters. Speaking during a conference earlier this week (and transcribed by VideoGamesChronicle ), Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick commented on the impact that potential remasters could have on Rockstar's strategy going forward. "I’m not sure there’ll be a bigger part of the strategy," said the CEO. "We’ve done differently than the competition – we don’t just port titles over, we actually take the time to do the very best job we can making the title different for the new release, for the new technology that we’re launching it on." Speaking of GTA 5 's imminent next-gen port, Zelnick went on to add "obviously, I’m confident that Rockstar is going to deliver just a great experience, but you can’t do that if you’re just doing a simple port." It wouldn't appear, then, that Rockstar is too keen to simply port over the older GTA games to new platforms with little in the way of improvements. This … [Read more...] about Potential GTA remasters won’t just be “simple” ports
Pondering love and loss amid COVID at the Berlinale
The opening scenes of "Jole Dobe Na" — Bengali for "Those Who Do Not Drown" — are apocalyptic. The camera moves slowly, visually documenting parts of an abandoned building, its doors and walls stripped of paint, until it reaches a large window that overlooks the courtyard. They promised, science could do everything, cure the sick, bring Lazarus back to life…" Having lived most of the last year under COVID-induced lockdowns, these words seem to reflect our inability to grasp the "new normal" consisting of social distancing and isolation, and our collective vulnerability as humans. But "Jole" is not about the pandemic. Its actors managed to finish filming the movie shortly before the lockdown began and COVID-19 did not really influence the movie's storyline. But in the current global context, the story raises a couple of important … [Read more...] about Pondering love and loss amid COVID at the Berlinale
