DOYLESTOWN, PA —A dog who was found at a Doylestown car dealership Wednesday morning remains at the SPCA in Lahaska, shelter representatives confirm. The female dog, found under a car at Thompson BMW on Swamp Road, was brought to the shelter by police. "She is safe in our care," Bucks County SPCA Director of Communications Cindy Kelly said Thursday morning. Kelly confirmed the shelter has not yet been contacted by the dog's owner. The dog did not have tags and is not microchipped. If the five days lapses and the dog's owner does not come forward, the SPCA's medical staff will evaluate the animal for placement. PAWS Chicago Holiday Adopt-A-Thon 2019: Give A Pup Or Cat A Home
CHICAGO, IL — This coming December weekend, PAWS Chicago is its 12th annual Holiday Adopt-A-Thon in an effort to find homes for homeless dogs, cats, pups and kittens. From Friday, Dec. 6, to Sunday, Dec. 8, the shelter is extending its hours in a pawsome opportunity to adopt. Some of the loving, fuzzy friends up for adoption are pictured below. "The holiday season is a critical time of year for homeless pets in overcrowded open admission shelters," the shelter said in a release to Patch. "Many are short-staffed during the holidays, which means more animals are at risk of being euthanized than any other time of year. By promoting adoption and spay/neuter, PAWS Chicago is working to build a No Kill community where all healthy and treatable pets are given life." Last weekend, Warner Bros.' Suicide Squad managed to win the top slot at the box office for a second time in a row with $43.5 million, despite a massive second-weekend drop of 67.4%. This Friday, it goes up against three wildly different movies, the epic remake Ben-Hur, the animated adventure Kubo and the Two Strings and the true story adaptation War Dogs.
