Despite being enamored with the PS5 at launch, my enthusiasm for the system has slowly begun to wane. The PlayStation 5 is an accomplished console with some fantastic features, but one ugly truth is starting to become abundantly clear: the PS5 can’t compete with Microsoft’s Xbox Series X when it comes to value. And it’s why I’ve found myself playing on Xbox Series X far more than PS5. Even before Microsoft’s flagship console was released, I stated that the Xbox Series X was already better value than the PS5 . And honestly, that gap has widened considerably almost five months since the consoles released, to the point where it’s making Sony’s tried and trusted strategy look horribly outdated. It’s worth reiterating, but Microsoft really doesn’t care if you buy an Xbox Series X . With Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate , the company has created a revenue stream that’s available across Xbox consoles, PC, Android phones , and soon, iOS devices and browsers. It … [Read more...] about PS5 isn’t good value compared to Xbox Series X, and I’m sick of it

Legends of Runeterra has quietly become the best multiplayer card game
League of Legends spin-off Legends of Runeterra was already a great card game when I first reviewed it last year . It borrows enough from Magic: The Gathering to be familiar, while also innovating with fantastic ideas like mana that can be banked for later turns and powerful Champion cards with unique abilities that also level up as a reward for playing to a specific strategy. But, hoo boy, has it changed a lot in the year since—and all for the better. It's gotten fantastic new game modes, hundreds of new cards with unique abilities, and a progression system that still is ridiculously generous. I just want to shout it from the rooftops: Legends of Runeterra is the best multiplayer card game. Flat out. Pick a card I'm not just trying to rustle the feathers of those who enjoy other card games like Hearthstone. Blizzard's landmark CCG—whose popularity undoubtedly inspired Riot to make Runeterra in the first place—is also in a fantastic place thanks to huge overhauls in its core … [Read more...] about Legends of Runeterra has quietly become the best multiplayer card game
House buyer whose brand new £500K dream home had ‘150 faults faces £35,000 bill for repairs’
A HOMEOWNER is faced with a £35,000 repair bill just months after moving into his new build house and discovering it had 110 problems. John Gaskell bought the property in Whittlesford, Cambridge, less than two years ago and had planned on retiring in the £500,000 home. But just 18 months after moving in he has been battling with his developer over building faults with the insulation and drainage issues. John has been told that the repairs will leave him £35,000 out of pocket, and is furious that Cambridge & County Developments (C&CD) sold him the property in September 2019 with so many problems. He has now launched a campaign calling for tougher rights for new build buyers against developers, after paying for an independent snagging and defects inspector to check the property. Around 110 problems were identified by the company, and the developer initially agreed that they had not been up to standard and that they would fix it. Speaking to The Mirror John … [Read more...] about House buyer whose brand new £500K dream home had ‘150 faults faces £35,000 bill for repairs’
