Lafayette City Marshal withdraws plan for City Hall security, focuses on accreditation

A proposal for the Lafayette City Marshal's Office to assist with security at City Hall and the City Prosecutor's Office has been shelved. Lafayette City Marshal Reggie Thomas, who took office in January, said in a news release Monday that his office during the transition "identified several areas of concern" in which his office could "supply support." His office presented Lafayette officials with a security plan for City Hall and the City Prosecutor's Office, Thomas wrote. The plan called for the addition of two deputy city marshals. The City Marshal's Office "will no longer proceed with this plan," he wrote, the decision following "further review and discussion with the city administration." Asked Monday if the decision was a mutual agreement, Thomas said Mayor-President Josh Guillory's administration was still reviewing the proposal. "I need to move forward on accreditation and working with the community," he said. Colts trying to find continuity after making deal for Wentz

INDIANAPOLIS - It’s already been a busy off-season for Indianapolis Colts coach Frank Reich. He’s said goodbye to longtime left tackle Anthony Castonzo and starting quarterback Philip Rivers; welcomed Rivers’ replacement in Carson Wentz; replaced offensive co-ordinator Nick Siriann i with the promotion of Marcus Brady; and hired six new assistants. Free agency and the draft are still to come. Yet amid all these moves, Reich is even more determined to solidify the component Indianapolis needs most: continuity. “I think you always feel like you’re going to play whatever cards you’re dealt and we’ll play them well,“ he said Thursday on a video call. “But obviously the moves we make in free agency are designed to have a longer-term answer so you can grow as an offence. That’s always the plan.” Reich’s first three seasons in Indy haven’t exactly followed the script. The Colts opened each fall with a different starting quarterback: Andrew Luck, Jacoby Brissett and Rivers. That … [Read more...] about Colts trying to find continuity after making deal for Wentz
