Subdued as rebellion

Bangkok – Three major pro-democracy demonstrations had been staged around Bangkok all day yesterday, March 5th, mainly to demand the release of their protest leaders who were denied bail several times over lese majeste charges. As of 9:00 AM., the first group of pro-democracy protesters, led by Jatupat “Pai Dao Din” Boonpattararaksa, arrived at the Rangsit area of Bangkok after walking about 250 kilometers from Nakhon Ratchasima under the campaign “Walk Through the Sky: Return Power to the People”. The peaceful march was to demand the release of nine detained people and “Ratsadon” protest leaders, including Parit “Penguin” Chiwarak, Anon Nampa, Somyot Pruksakasemsuk, and Patiwat “Morlum Bank” Saraiyeam who were detained over lese majeste charges. The incident happened when the chairman was on vacation in our place. The chairman said he would sue my brother for direct assault because he is allegedly a person in authority. Is my brother liable for the said crime? CALAPAN CITY, Mindoro Oriental : A female peasant leader in Occidental Mindoro was arrested by policemen on Tuesday. The Katipunan ng Samahang Magbubikid-Timog Katalugan (Kasama-TK) said Genalyn Avelino, a leader of the Samahan ng Magsasaka sa Kanlurang Mindoro, was arrested by the men of Cpt. Ariel Roldan. After a few minutes, Roldan and his companions appeared and showed the older Avelino a warrant of arrest for a rebellion case filed before the Regional Trial Court Branch 43 in Roxas, Oriental Mindoro. The younger Avelino said her mother was taken to the Rural Health Unit in Rizal. She was accompanied by her husband. Avelino was a convenor of the Bantay Palay, a farmers group advocating for the increase in the buying price of palay (unmilled rice) in the province.
