Source: iMore The time of 5G is upon us, whether we're ready or not. Recent rumors point to Apple's next iPhone, which we'll call the iPhone 12 for now, coming equipped with some level of 5G support. Working with Qualcomm, Apple is reportedly preparing to have phones with the next-generation wireless technology ready to go at some point this fall. But just what is 5G, and what will it bring to iPhone 12? What are sub-6 and mmWave? Here's what you need to know about all of it. The Government has ordered telecoms businesses to remove all Huawei equipment from the UK's 5G networks by 2027, triggering a renewed clash with Beijing. UK's mobile providers will also be banned from buying new Huawei 5G equipment after the end of this year - a move that is expected to delay the rollout of 5G by a year. "This has not been an easy decision, but it is the right one for the UK telecoms networks, for our national security and our economy, both now and indeed in the long run," said Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden. Operators will be required to "transition away" from buying new Huawei equipment for use in the full-fibre network over the next two years. The announcement follows a review conducted by the National Security Council into a report of upcoming US sanctions on the Chinese telecoms company. The report concluded that the new US sanctions, set to be introduced in September, risk causing gaps in supplies of vital components from Huawei. Mr Dowden, said … [Read more...] about Huawei kit must be stripped from UK 5G networks by 2027
Xiaomi has launched another variant of the well-received Redmi Note 10 on Thursday, June 3, and it’s, as of writing, the most accessible 5G device we’ve gotten our hands on yet. We’re, of course, referring to the Redmi Note 10 5G, an entry-level device with some relatively decent specs. So how well does it stack up against other phones in the series? Not too bad, I think. The only caveat is that it belongs in an extremely competitive price segment, where there are arguably better options. The first thing we noticed about the phone is that the plastic back has a sleek matte finish with a two-tone colorway that’s attractive and premium-esque. It’s not completely fingerprint- or smudge-proof, but the feel makes for a more natural and smooth grip. Holding … [Read more...] about Redmi Note 10 5G review
