Facebook executive Nick Clegg recently advised Indian ministers about the 'company's resolve not to compromise on the privacy of WhatsApp users. Indian IT and Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Monday underlined the importance of law enforcement agencies knowing the source of WhatsApp messages being circulated to spread false rumours and fuel violence. "We respect encryption, but when the same message is being played repeatedly at the same time, same area and on the same issue to create chaos and spread false rumours, law enforcement agencies must have access, and the source of nuisances must be identified to deal with circulation of false rumours in such cases." The minister was speaking at the India Mobile Congress 2019, as he called upon global tech giants to provide information on sources of encrypted messages to control rumours. Air India received Rs 30,520 cr equity infusion from FY12 onwards: Govt
Debt-laden Air India has received an equity infusion of Rs 30,520.21 crore from financial year 2011-12 till date, the government said on December 5 and reiterated that it is committed to the disinvestment of the national carrier. In April 2012, the then central government had approved a Turnaround Plan (TAP)/ Financial Restructuring Plan (FRP) for reviving Air India, which has been in the red since merger of Indian Airlines in 2007-08.To prepare for the disinvestment, the government is implementing a strategic plan, which includes a financial package and focus on increasing operational efficiencies, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Hardeep Singh Puri said on Thursday.The major components of the financial package for 2018-19 included a cash support of Rs 3,975 crore to Air India, inclusive of Rs 1,630 crore already infused in the airline in 2018-19.Close Another component was for providing a "government guarantee of Rs 7,600 crore, inclusive of Rs 3,000 crore already provided to Air … [Read more...] about Air India received Rs 30,520 cr equity infusion from FY12 onwards: Govt

New Delhi: Expressing "certainty" that India would be a $5 trillion economy by 2024, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday clarified that the current growth slowdown is "temporary" and only caused by "global factors". Shah also promised that no Indian will be left without a house, bank account, toilet, electricity, road connectivity or any basic need of life by 2022. Shah said that the Prime Minister's vision of a new and great India was about ensuring a good quality of life for all Indians and India getting accepted and admired by the world as a strong nation.
